Cauliflower

I hear they've been sticking cauliflower in every dish here at Haworth.
It's a conspiracy.
Well seeing as the definition of conspiricy is a plot to overthrow a government or other power, maybe not. But STILL.

I object.

I object to anything with cauliflower. It's the veggie with an identity crisis. Or as Mark Twain said, "nothing but cabbage with a college education."

Another Year Over

A new one just begun... John Lennon pretty much wraps that one up. For some reason, even though my status as a student has long expired, I still think of the year as starting in September. But if I start to think about the last year... all the way back to January, I find it rather amusing to think of all that has occured. This year has definately had it's share of downers. The amusing part to me is how devestating they were at the time to me, and now those events seem like bad dreams. I must say that the last "quater" of the year was very enjoyable and I am hoping that continues into 2008. Must have something to do with being able to take a week off from work to hang out with my family over Christmas. They definately have blessed my life, and I can't imagine life with out them! What stands out best in my mind from this past year is how God has so richly blessed me with amazing friendships. I thought I'd share some of them with you!

Pumpkins

I do miss the days in school when we would celebrate Reformation Day... 95 theses and all. But I guess it's not really appreciated by all, but rather is taken over just like all of the holidays. Easter becomes bunnies, Christmas becomes Santa... But I do love the pumpkins of Halloween. Here's a sampling of the pumpkins from the carving contest held at work. Who would have known I work with such creative individuals?

Happy Birthday to Me.

My search for a new winter jacket and computer has finally ended. Now, I realize that these are small items in relation to those of you purchasing home appliances and dream homes.... but consider these some of my dream purchases of the year. Me likey... and you'll notice the common theme of the colour green. That addiction is not going to end any time soon (well, I hope not at least) So, does anyone want an old laptop that has absolutely no use anymore? It will make a fine paperweight!

Wedding Bells

I think it's safe for me to finally tell everyone that Emily and Josh are engaged!!! He proposed on Sunday while in Kananaskis... and I have never seen those two smile more in my life. I guess the wedding fever has hit my family. I am so excited for them!

Boston in the Fall

Just like the the pirates who don't do anything, I've never been to Boston in the Fall..... but I'm on my way next week. I can't wait to see the showroom, but more importantly the beautiful colours of fall.

Mending

I cannot pretend
that I felt any regret
Cause each broken heart

will eventually mend
As the blood runs red

down the needle and thread
Someday you will be loved

You may feel alone
when you're falling asleep
And everytime tears

roll down your cheeks
But I know your heart

belongs to someone
you've yet to meet
Someday you will be loved
